Our Story
John “Yanni” Christian Bohren founded Bohren Law in 2014.
Yanni grew up as a “military brat” courtesy of the U.S. Navy as his father served his country for over 20 years. He was born in San Diego but landed in Charleston after his father retired. Moving around the world allowed Yanni to experience many different cultures – having a Greek mom helped, too. Growing up, Yanni has always had a deep passion for helping people (and arguing), along with a dream to play professional baseball. Turns out, Yanni was a better at arguing than hitting baseballs, so he became a lawyer.
Several years ago, Yanni was injured in a car accident and had to go through exactly what many of his clients unfortunately go through: the initial shock of being in an accident – the pain, the suffering, the uncertainty of the future, and eventually the loss of his military career.
He went through years of physical therapy and treatment only to have to undergo “the knife” and he has the scar to prove it. He knows first-hand how difficult life can be when you are in pain all of the time, can’t work, and lose your sense of independence.

Yanni earned his juris doctorate from Ohio Northern University’s Pettit School of Law, and his Bachelor’s degree from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina.
Yanni was a four-year varsity wrestler for The Citadel, and editor in chief for the college publication, The Brigadier.
With offices coast to coast, Yanni splits his time between the “Holy City,” Charleston, South Carolina, and “America’s Finest City,” San Diego, California.
He loves dogs, despises the beach, is wholly committed to his Church, a proud U.S. Army veteran, and actively supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Charleston Youth Development, Animal Humane Societies, and Veterans Village of San Diego.
